Our
History: A Tradition of Refined Living
Plum
Landing was the dream of Ida Mighell, a school
teacher and principal. Miss Mighell made provisions
in her will to build comfortable housing designed
specifically for active retired people. The result
was a beautiful, 70-apartment, six story building
in a park-like setting along the Fox River: Plum
Landing.
In 1962, Plum Landing opened its door as a not
for profit organization. Its garden apartments,
provide a secure environment for
active, mature adults who want to live independently.
Plum
Landing is proud of its reputation for being a
true "community" where individualism
is encouraged and respected. |

A
Tranquil Setting |
|
Plum
Landing residents and visitors appreciate its peaceful setting, where they can listen to the
birds sing, feed the ducks, or drop a fishing line
into the river. They like watching the river
traffic and taking a leisurely walk through the
park. The colorful patio garden offers a welcome
place to visit with neighbors and guests. |
